His real name is John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris,
and he also wrote under the "pseuydonyms"
John Beynon, John Harris, Lucas Parkes, Lucas Benyon
and Johnson Harris.
He is probably best known to the general public through
the film versions (1961 & 2009) of "Day of
the Triffids". This was so famous in fact that
the term "triffid" is now used to describe
a dangerous plant.
