Content
An interesting, multi-layered read revolving around the
idea of "families" of clones of one person exploring
space. Family reunions are part of the scheme and obviously
it turns out bad for one family. Problem is: When you
live for millennia, you are bound to forget things. Some
you are meant to forget, some not.
The story is dealing with different forms of morality
and truth, and also has a nice, almost Asimov-ian robot
subplot woven in.
Of course it's a crime novel with a whole bunch of "who-dunnit"
twists, but at 600 odd pages, they all seem to have their
place. "House" moves on steadily of not too
swiftly in parts.
But if you like clones, very long time scales and threats
to the whole of humanity (+ a happy end of sorts), and
if you don't mind a constant love-story, this is for you.
