Stranded on a planet are a human man, a carnivore alien, a human woman from another time and various other alien creatures.

The reason why the man and the woman are from different times is that the man travelled deep frozen over thousands of years and the woman travelled by means of an obscure tunnel system, of which no one knows who built it and how it works.
