Sri Lankabhimanya Sir Arthur Charles Clarke is one of
the leading science fiction writers and I assume he
will continue to be, having set the standards for the
writers in the decades to come. Probably his best known
work is the nnovel for Kubrick's "2001: A Space
Odyseey" (co-written with Kubrick, although probably
not everyone who knows the movie is aware of the fact.
Also, the use of geostationary satellites for communication
is credited to him.
