THREE STIGMATA OF PALMER ELDRITCH
The Three Stigmata
of Palmer Eldritch
I do not claim to have understood this fully.
Note to self: re-reading is recommended.
Anyhow, another mind-twister from the grandmaster of
Palmer Eldritch returns from a distant universe with
the ultimate drug that enables people to spend hours
and years in an illusory world, without losing a second
of earth time ...
This sounds tempting, but
apart from the catch that Eldritch becomes the god of
each and every illusory world, the math should convince
anyone that this is a bad deal, unless you were able
to use the time under "Chew-Z" (probably spelly
like "juicy", for whatever that might mean)
productively. If it doesn't take any time to have a
three month high, it doesn't help passing the time.
Which is a bummer, really.
And then you never know whether you actually did come
off the drug or whether what you think is real time
again is just another facette of "Chew-Z"
